Imposter Syndrome was first noticed and commented on in the 1970s! For those of you who have these feelings of self-doubt, or feel like you’re a fraud and “someone is going to catch me out”, or feel like an imposter who doesn’t belong, you should know that you’re not alone. We will be talking about Imposter Syndrome and how to cope with it — especially in the work setting, but the feelings it can trigger can have an impact elsewhere as well.
As you watch the following video, do think about some of these questions:
- How do these anecdotes and examples make you feel?
- Have you felt like an imposter in any context, and how did you deal with it?
- Does knowing that lots of other people deal with this make you feel less alone?
